This is where we post what is happening on the island — our island, the one with two zip codes in western Washington. Watch parties, seasonal menus, fundraisers, new cocktails, holiday traditions: if it is going on at La Isla, you will read about it here first. Want it in your inbox instead? What to Expect Here

We treat this blog the way we treat the specials board: short, honest and updated whenever there is something worth telling you. Expect posts when the fresh sheet turns over with the seasons, when the bar debuts a new cocktail list, when a big match or a holiday changes our hours, and whenever the community needs rallying — fundraisers, donation drives and cultural celebrations have all been organized from this very page. What you will not find here: the recipe for our sofrito. Some things stay in the family.

If you only visit twice a year, make it December — when coquito season peaks and the parranda playlists come out — and early summer, when the new cocktail list and the first halibut of the season tend to arrive in the same glorious week.

Prefer your news delivered? Our email newsletter rounds up events, fresh sheets and happy hour changes about once a month, with zero spam and occasional subscriber-only specials. Sign-up sheets live by the host stand at both locations — just add your email next time you are in for dinner.

And if you read something here that makes you hungry, act on it — the dishes mentioned in these posts have a way of selling out on the weekends they are featured. Consider that both a warning and an invitation.
